I was in a long distance relationship for 3 years, and I am happily married to that same guy now. All I can say is, these types of relationships require a LOT of trust and patience. Its actually much more easier to keep in touch nowadays, but still, there is that niggling feeling that you just need to know...know where he is, who he's with. And since you can't possible know exactly what, then you TRUST him enough that he is being true and loyal.

I entered into this relationship because, basically, all the rest just didn't seem to cut it. Magkasama nga kayo sa iisang country code pero all the same naloko pa rin ako ng exes ko. My bf, who is now my hubby, was different. I just knew it from the start. You really cannot choose who you will spend the rest of your life with anyway.

And believe it or not, there are a LOT of advantages in LDRs:
1. You never take forgranted the time you spend with each other. You value each precious second you are together.
2. You make it up to each other. Me and hubby would plan vacations away from family and work whenever we'd get the chance. We've been to different countries and provinces all around. Getting lost together and sharing laughs as well.
3. You get creative in showing how you feel for each other. Its never boring. Always different.
4. You still get to keep your identity. Yes, wala ka ng sundo from work or school, BUT wala namang pumipilit syo sa umuwi na ng maaga from a gimmick. You still get to do your thing as well.

LDRs are not for everyone. But for those destined to be in one, the rewards are truly great. =)

P.S. Nde na kami LDR ngayon. I followed him to SG already. Iba na usapan pag kasal na. =)
